    Oscar Piastri is promoted to the Formula One team by Alpine

    Alpine has promoted Oscar Piastri into the Formula One seat. This was opened by Fernando Alonso’s surprise announcement that he is leaving the team at the end of the season. After Alonso signed a multi-year deal with Aston Martin, Alpine said it would promote its 21-year-old young talent to race alongside Esteban Ocon in 2023.

    Oscar Piastri is promoted to the Formula One team by AlpinePiastri did not comment on the Alpine news release or on his social media platforms about the promotion. Although Piastri’s contract is with Alpine, there is speculation he is working on a better deal with another team. After Sebastian Vettel announced his retirement last week, Aston Martin announced the signing of 41-year-old Alonso. This season was Alonso’s last with Alpine.

    Over 6,250 Ebola Cases Reported Across Six Provinces in Congo

    World Health Organization has called for an expanded Ebola response in the Democratic Republic of the Congo as the virus continues to spread through multiple provinces. According to the latest government data, there were 6,250 confirmed cases and 3,039 fatalities by Sept. 1. The outbreak has impacted 60 health zones spread across six provinces. Authorities have also documented 1,439 recoveries, with a case fatality rate of 48.6%. Health teams in Congo continue Ebola testing, contact tracing and treatment. The Bundibugyo Ebola outbreak has become the largest and deadliest epidemic in Congo’s history.
