    The Democratic Republic of the Congo health authorities have announced that the total number of infections in the ongoing Ebola epidemic has now reached 3,075, with cases surpassing 3,000 amidst a significant increase in transmission. The health ministry’s data indicates that the outbreak has resulted in 1,354 deaths and 556 recoveries, while 755 individuals are currently hospitalized or in isolation facilities. Declared on May 15, this outbreak is the fastest-growing Ebola crisis on record, adding 1,000 new cases in less than two weeks after crossing the 2,000-case mark on July 15.
