This figure indicates a 28.1% increase from around $23.2 billion during the same period in the previous year. The seven-month total added about $6.5 billion compared to the first seven months of 2025. The data reflect funds transferred home by Egyptians employed abroad, with the July influx alone reaching about $4.5 billion, marking a 20% rise from roughly $3.8 billion in July 2025. Early months also showed significant year-on-year growth, with January receiving roughly $3.5 billion versus $2.9 billion last year, and February reaching about $3.8 billion compared to $3.0 billion in February 2025. Together, January and February contributed roughly $7.3 billion to the total, exceeding their combined previous-year level by about $1.4 billion. The upward trend continued across the fiscal year, which saw inflows totaling about $47.3 billion during 2025/2026, representing a 29.6% rise from $36.5 billion in the prior year. June 2026 alone brought in about $4.2 billion, compared with $3.6 billion in June 2025, reflecting a 15.6% increase. The fiscal year spanned July 2025 through June 2026, with the latest seven-month total covering January to July 2026. This resulted in a dollar increase of approximately $10.8 billion compared to the previous fiscal year.

Remittance inflows experience growth across different periods
The calendar-year data also highlighted a rise in remittance inflows, reaching about $41.5 billion in 2025, which is a 40.5% increase from approximately $29.6 billion in 2024. This gain is roughly $11.9 billion. During the first half of fiscal 2025/2026, inflows amounted to approximately $22.1 billion, up from $17.1 billion during the same period a year earlier, marking a 29.6% increase. December 2025 saw a monthly record of roughly $4.0 billion, up 24% from $3.2 billion in December 2024. By January 2026, cumulative fiscal-year remittances reached about $25.6 billion, compared with $20.0 billion in the same period of the previous year. The Central Bank of Egypt reported about $29.4 billion through February, which is 28% higher than the approximately $23.0 billion recorded during the same eight-month period. December’s year-on-year growth was about $800 million.
The spring period extends the trend of increasing remittance inflows
Throughout spring, the cumulative remittance total kept climbing. From July to March of fiscal 2025/2026, inflows reached approximately $34.9 billion, representing a 32% rise from the $26.4 billion reported during the same months in the previous fiscal year. By April, the total increased further to around $39.2 billion, up 33.2% from $29.4 billion. April’s deposits alone generated about $4.3 billion, compared with $3.0 billion in April 2025. The monthly rise was 44%, roughly equating to $1.3 billion. By May, fiscal-year remittances had grown to about $43.1 billion, up 31.2% from $32.8 billion the previous year. May inflows were approximately $3.9 billion, versus about $3.4 billion in May 2025. The total increase over 11 months was about $10.3 billion. The fiscal year closed at $47.3 billion after June, with July pushing the 2026 calendar-year total to $29.7 billion.
